New Beginnings Christian Fellowship conducted its first worship service on January 4, 2004 in facilities rented from the First Presbyterian Church of Homestead, Florida. There were sixty-one people present for that initial service. During its first year, the congregation experienced significant growth and in November 2004, moved to its present location. For the next eighteen months, various ministries, both internal and external to the congregation, were developed and implemented. In addition, an extensive renovation of the facilities was completed. Today, this growing congregation offers Bible study opportunities for all ages at various times during the week; ministry which includes local, national and international opportunities; weekly times of fellowship and worship; all in an atmosphere designed to meet the needs of the entire family. Pastor
David Cleeland has served as pastor of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship since its inception in January 2004. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned the Master of Divinity Degree and a Master’s degree in Religious Education. Prior to his tenure at New Beginnings, he was the Executive Director of the Miami Baptist Association, has had pastorates in Louisiana and Florida and has served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps for twenty years. He and his wife Sylvia have two daughters and eight grandchildren.

Music Director
Von Grant is one of the founding members of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship and has served as Church Music Director from its inception in January 2004. He has an extensive background in church music spanning more than 35 years during which he has provided exceptional instrumental and vocal leadership at the congregational level. Von is an accomplished vocal soloist and has sung with a number of choirs and groups during his career. He brings a unique gift and style of leadership to the New Beginnings music program which is vividly demonstrated every Sunday morning as well as through the dramatic musical presentations given by the New Beginnings Choir throughout the year.

Ministry Approach
New Beginnings Christian Fellowship is a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church that emphasizes the practice and application of the principles of God’s Word in everyday life. It is a family-focused and ministry-based congregation in which a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is stressed, and where every effort is made to introduce people to Him and to help them to be more like Him as they live their lives day-to-day. The people of New Beginnings love to fellowship together and to express themselves as God’s family. They believe in the sanctity and preservation of human life and the integrity of the traditional family. They understand the challenges of life in a contemporary setting, but also commit themselves to do their utmost to be the people God wants them to be.
